Frame 8: 7-1 now to Ricky one more frame to play this session 76-0.

Frame 9: 67-59  for a 8-1 lead going into tomorrow for Ricky Walden.

FIRST SESSION:
Walden had raced into an 8-1 lead in the first session as he punished some poor shot-making by Holt.

Walden made a 140 total clearance in the first half of the session and did not let up after the interval, with Holt only able to win one frame to make it 6-1 with a break of 54 but Walden instantly responded to make it 7-1.

Holt will count himself lucky having not to have cut the arrears in the final frame of the session having made a break of 59 but he let Walden back in to record a 8-1 win in the morning session.

Walden will be confident of easily progressing considering Holt's infamous temperament - he has said he finds it difficult to re-focus after a miss and once conceded the deciding frame against Joe Perry in a China Open match when there were 13 reds left available.
His sloppiness allowed Walden into 6-0 advantage and despite an improvement in the closing frames it was a thoroughly disappointing showing.
