We all know Steve Davis was fabulous in the 80s and early 90s in recent years he hasn't performed but he has qualified for this year's UK Championship and a stubborn and gritty opponent in Ali Carter to face, this will be awesome.
Frame 1: Carter takes a 22 point lead over Steve Davis, and remains ahead with green-black remaining Steve Davis fails to get out of a snooker and concedes.
Frame 2: A 47 & 88 from Ali wins him the frame.
Frame 3: Steve leads by 34 points down to the colours Davis' lead is 10 but Ali Carter clears up.
Frame 4: 26 to start from Ali, Steve responds with 40 and takes frame
Frame 5: Tight affair which Carter takes.
Frame 6: Carter has a 55-0 lead his lead is stretched
Frame 7: Davis amongst the balls and he wins the frame long way back still
Frame 8: Carter leads in the frame and clinches the match.
In fairness Steve Davis was never really in this one.
Result: Carter 6-2 Davis
